Hi my name is Matt.
I have cerebral palsy.
It affects my legs. However, I can was unassisted without a cane, walker or crutches.
To make light of the situation I like to say that I walk with a wobble. (I hope you don’t mind (: )
I speak French and English.

I’m currently work for Algonquin College while looking to get back into the government after being let go from my previous job. I graduated from Algonquin College with an honors diploma in computer programming. However, all my work experience has been in information technology helpdesk support.

I know that the cost of living in Ottawa alone is expensive and it’s for that reason that I am living with my grandmother since I moved to Ottawa. This way we are both helping each other financially. I have plans to move out once I find a fulltime permanent job or when I meet THE ONE.

I do not drive, I could but I choose not to.
Having cerebral palsy, I need to modify my car, so that I can drive with my hands, as I fear my reaction time with my feet is to slow and you really need to *buy* a car to do that. Unfortunately, for that reason I only have a G1. However, the upside to that is I use para transpo, oc transpo and I save 40% of cab rides.

Don’t worry ladies, I’m not cheap. I will still do everything I can to treat you like a queen

Socially, I like going to the movies, going out for dinner, watching TV and playing video games.
Really just any activity where I’m out with my friends. Sadly, being a geek with geek friends it does seem to revolve mostly around what is listed above.

However, I do like to workout, going to the beach and swimming.
When it comes to your activities, I will do any of them with you …. Only if you want, except for shopping. I HATE shopping.

I am shy around new people at first because there are some things I cannot do and I am afraid that I will ruin the moment / outing. But with time and the right setting everyone loves me.

Lastly, after going to Las Vegas last year and going zip-lining, to the Grand Cannon and seeing Criss Angel, I started an early bucket list, where I promise myself to do something on that list every year.

This year it’s Sky diving … Do you want to come!
